Who runs Reporails

Your account
When you sign in with GitHub, we receive your GitHub username and email address. We use them to run your account and to contact you about it. Legal basis: providing the service (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Using the site and the service
When you run the Reporails CLI or plugin, the data it sends is used only to produce your results and is not stored. Like any online service, our website and service keep technical logs, including IP addresses, to run securely, prevent abuse and fix errors. Legal basis: providing the service (Article 6(1)(b)) and our legitimate interest in a secure service (Article 6(1)(f)).
Payments
Pro subscriptions are paid through Stripe, and we never see your card details. We keep the records needed to manage your subscription, and an invoicing service issues the invoices Hungarian law requires. Legal basis: your subscription (Article 6(1)(b)) and our tax obligations (Article 6(1)(c)).
Whitepaper and contact form
If you request the whitepaper, we use your email address and name to send it and, as you agreed on the form, to contact you about Reporails (consent, Article 6(1)(a)). If you write to us, we use your message to answer you, and the contact form uses Google reCAPTCHA to keep out spam (legitimate interest, Article 6(1)(f)).
Cookies
We use a session cookie when you are signed in and a cookie that remembers your cookie choice. Cloudflare, which provides the site's network and security, and Google reCAPTCHA on the contact form may set their own cookies. Google Analytics loads only if you allow it in the cookie banner (consent, Article 6(1)(a)). We use no advertising cookies.
How long we keep data
- Account data: while your account exists, and at most 3 months after it is deleted.
- Technical logs: only as long as needed for security and troubleshooting.
- Invoices and payment records: as long as Hungarian tax law requires.
- Whitepaper requests: until you withdraw your consent or ask us to delete them.
- Messages: as long as needed to deal with your request.
- Google Analytics data (only if you allow it): at most 14 months.
- Google reCAPTCHA data: as long as Google's own terms provide.
Who receives data
We do not sell your data. We share it only with providers that run the service for us: hosting and security (Cloudflare and our server hosts), payments (Stripe), invoicing, spam protection (Google reCAPTCHA) and analytics (Google, only with your consent). Some of them may process data outside the EU, under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the EU standard contractual clauses.
Your rights
You can ask for access to your data, its correction, deletion, restriction or portability, and you can object to processing based on our legitimate interest. You can withdraw your consent at any time. Write to [email protected], and we answer within one month. You can also complain to the Hungarian data protection authority (NAIH, naih.hu) or the authority where you live.
